I am trying to create a better library of books for the inmates housed at 3 different locations: the Morehouse Parish Jail, Morehouse Parish Detention Center, and the Morehouse Parish Jail Annex in Bastrop, LA. (We do not have a budget for such items) I have donated over 2000 Paperback Books out of my own pocket over the past two years. I have also donated approved READING GLASSES. I would appreciate any help with my chosen Charity Donations. WHAT WE NEED: We are looking for Westerns, Science Fiction, Horror, Action (Jack Reacher novels, etc), Fantasy, Thriller, etc, for the male inmates. (and comic Graphic Novels maybe, but regular comics are too frail) (Stand-alone books are better than an ongoing series) What we DON'T need: They have plenty of Self Help, Romance, and Inspirational/Faith-based books and Bibles already. We already have plenty of books for the few female inmates that are housed within the parish (Thanks, but we don't need anymore.) ALL BOOKS MUST BE PAPERBACK ONLY. We CAN NOT accept Hardback books or Magazines. Before you donate them to a Thrift store, please remember us and help me in this endeavor I have taken on. Please contact me if you have some to spare.
